Image
Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you one type of reading activity. We will use the tablets, because pupils have to scan a QR code. In this code, there will be a reading, which talks about one mysterious story... QR code: First, they will read the story themselves in silence. When they have finished reading the story, we will start to read it aloud, to explain if they have any doubts of any words or expressions that they don't understand. Following this activity, the teacher will put on the whiteboard a Kahoot code, then pupils have to write it into their tablets to enter the quizzes game, can see their name or nicknames that they have created, on the leaderboard. Kahoot is an interactive game-based, we-based learning platform, and can consist of various question types. In this case, I created a Quizzy, which consists of multiple-choice questions. They are able to get immediate feedback when choosing or answering questions. And they can see how their responses rate relativ

SPEAKING ACTIVITY EXAMPLE

Hello everyone!  I want to share with you one example of a speaking activity to do with our students! I know that it is better to use realistic situations to enhance our students speaking, but also, it is true that we can use some cooperative and interactive activities, we can improve vocabulary learning and take it off student's fear about talking English in public. This activity can be connected with the latter Listening Activity .  The teacher can ask if anybody remembers the song  ( "  The Hobbies Song for Kids - What do you like to do?  ")  with the following questions: • Can anybody tell me what we learned in the latter session? • Who can remember five hobbies that appear in the song? • Who are the characters of the video song? Pirates, mermaids, or monsters? • Did you ever practice one of the hobbies named? All the learners must be to answer one of the questions above, and we can put the answers in common; this little debate can last 10 minutes approximat

Following the lesson, the teacher starts to explain the activity which consists in play a game, where they have to watch a picture projected in a white board. Picture: Then, learners have to draw a table with nine gaps, and in each gap, they have to write one word of the projected picture. After that, the teacher explains that the words in the picture that they have copied, are the lyrics of the video song that they are going to watch ( "  The Hobbies Song for Kids - What do you like to do?  ")   . The game consists in listening the song while the students have to underline the written words when it appears, and if they have all the words underlined must

Hello everyone!  Today I want to share with you some websites which help me to create some resources to carry out some activities to practice in classroom with oral skills.  First website is WordClouds .  It is a reliable site where you can create text images for what do you want. In my case, I used to put the vocabulary words that I wanted to work in my class. For instance, the vocabulary is about hobbies. Therefore, I used the lyrics of one song that was about that. The site provides a big range of different shapes and letters, in which you can change the length, colours, thickness, background... It is so intuitive and so easy to navigate it. Moreover, when you have your creation ready don't need any additional computer requirement, you can download your image in a PNG format.   Here you are the example:  Here you have a little explication attached.  Second website is Fun Kids English .  It is a site created by Greg Crawford, BJ Bulmer & Bill Borella. They offer a very valu
